This is my first form of fan art. I'm no good at drawing and would have loved to have done something with Katniss and Peeta but didn't have the skill. So, who better to do than the loveable cat Buttercup? I know he looks much better in this image but I'd like to imagine that Katniss, having not really liked him in the first place, was pretty harsh on his appearance. I spruced him up a bit to what I'd think he'd look like. Perhaps this is him in his youth - before he really started to become scruffy from a hard life in District 12.

My inspiration for the work was the thought of what Buttercup might have done in his time away from Katniss and Prim - more so toward the end of the books than the beginning.

The art is for the fan art contest that you can find here at this [link] . I'll be surprised if I even place in it - there is already so many good pieces submitted but I'm willing to try. I hope that in choosing a different subject for the artwork will score me some creativity points. I may be reaching though Regardless of the results I'm happy with my work.
